Delete writeprotect code that was previously extracted from the cros tree.
This is the first of a series of commits adding writeprotect support.
Following commits incrementally implement writeprotect operations,
culminating in writeprotect support for three example chips: GD25LQ128,
GD25Q32, and GD25Q256.

While using the libflashrom API to read specific regions
there is no currently no general way to find the offset
into the read buffer of the expected region.
flashrom_layout_include_region() probably should have
returned the region offset and size if it was included.
However to avoid a change in API signature we can instead
hoist up get_region_range() into the API to be called after.

It initializes an empty layout. Currently the maximum number of entries
has to be specified, which will vanish once we use dynamic allocation
per entry.
We replace the two special cases `single_layout` and `ich_layout` with
dynamically allocated layouts. As a result, we have to take care to
release the `default_layout` in a flashctx once we are done with it.

This change introduces a new option to extract all layout regions to

include all regions and backfilling the entry->file with entry->name
(replacing spaces with underscores)

Add an optional sub-parameter to the -i parameter to allow building the

This is a rebase of a patch that was ported from chromiumos. A lot of

While it's not posixly-correct, it's possible that a user, script, or
application may attempt to start flashrom with stdout or stderr
closed. It's possible that we'll get a file descriptor of 1 or 2 when
opening a flash device (such as Linux MTD), and flashrom will send
garbage debug logs to the flash:

While for most applications, closing stdout or stderr would just lead
to obsure bugs, for flashrom, we should have extra safety guards, as
this could mean that we might be bricking a device instead.
Add a basic safety check.

Introduce cli_classic_single_operation() to consolidate the repeating
pattern of multiple CLI operations at once. Also modify
cli_classic_abort_usage() to take an optional error abort string and
print it to stderr, this allows for trimming a few more lines off the
cli implementation.
V.2: A few fixes upon review:
- Trim off some unnecessary braces for single line branches.
- Pass 'operation_specified' by reference.
- Rename a function.
V.3: Fix print order of cli_classic_abort_usage().

When compiling, this warning gives string literals the type const char[]
to help catch accidental modification (which is undefined behaviour).
There currently aren't any instances of this in flashrom, so let's
enable this warning to keep it that way. This requires adding const
qualifiers to the declarations of several variables that work with
string literals.

Flashmap, or simply fmap, is a binary data format for describing
region offsets, sizes, and certain attributes and is widely used by
coreboot. This patch adds support for the fmap data format version 1.1
and adds --fmap and --fmap-file arguments.
Using --fmap will make flashrom to search the ROM content for fmap
data. Using --fmap-file will make flashrom search a supplied file
for fmap data.
An example of how to update the COREBOOT region of a ROM:
flashrom -p programmer --fmap -w coreboot.rom -i COREBOOT
flashrom -p programmer --fmap-file coreboot.rom -w coreboot.rom -i COREBOOT
The fmap functions are mostly copied from cbfstool.
Currently it is made mutually exclusive with other layout options until
we are more clever about this input.

When developing software that has to be flashed to a flash chip to be
executed, it often takes a long time to read the current flash contents
(for flashrom to know what pages to erase and reprogram) each time
when writing the new image. However, when the flash was just reprogrammed,
its current state is known to be the previous image that was flashed
(assuming it was verified).
Thus, it makes sense to provide that image as a file for the flash contents
instead of wasting valuable time read the whole flash each time.

Add an option --ifd to read the ROM layout from an Intel Firmware

specifies the images to update.
v2: o Rebased on libflashrom, use libflashrom interface.
o Use functions from ich_descriptors.c.
v3: o Move ich_descriptors.o to LIB_OBJS, thus build it independent
of arch and programmers.
o Bail out if we aren't compiled for little endian.
o Update flashrom.8.tmpl.
v4: o Incorporated David's comments.
o Removed single-character `-d` option.
v5: Changed region names to match the output of `ifdtool --layout ...`

This flash chip can be configured (one time) to use 64 KiB or 256 KiB sectors.
Additionally, in the 64 KiB mode it supports 16 4 KiB sub-sectors that can be
(one time) programmed to be on the top or bottom of the device. The sub-sectors
can be erased with the 0x20 opcode but because this opcode does not work
with the remaining sectors and flashrom can not cope with that the 0x20
opcode is not supported yet.
This patch adds two definitions, one for the 64 KiB and 256 KiB configuration
respectively. The device also shares the RDID with the various S25FL128
devices so we have to increase the maximum number of successfully probed
chips to 8.
The 64 KiB mode was tested on real hardware.

- Create distinct functions for mapping and unmapping for flash chips.
- Map only when needed: map before probing and unmap immediately
after it. Map again when a single chip was probed successfully before
taking any actual actions and clean up afterwards.
- Map special function chip registers centrally together with flash space
instead of within (some) probing methods after successful probes.
- Save the used base addresses of the mappings in struct flashctx as well.
- Do not try to (un)map the zero-sized chip definitions that are merely hacks.
This also fixes the printing of wrong warnings for these chip definitions
introduced in r1765.
